Story: A gripping story of a brother’s murder, hidden secrets, and a journey for revenge.
In the aftermath of Victor D’Peter (Ishaan Shoukath) blind man is brutally killed through Russell (Abhimanyu Thilakan) Thilakan) along with his group, Victor’s foster son Marco D’Peter (Unni Mukundan) returns to Italy driven by a desire for revenge. As Marco discovers the truth about Victor’s murder He discovers the truth that Russell is the one to blame.
But who is Russell and what exactly was the reason the killer killed Victor? What dark secret lies behind the tragic death of Victor and what is the length to which Marco determined to take it on his quest to get revenge? The film has the answers.
Positive Points: Strong Performances & Intense Action
Unni Mukundan’s portrayal Marco is notable for his intense performance. It marks a change from previous roles. The physical transformation of his character is apparent and he performs brutal action sequences with precision.
The action sequences, particularly during the second half are choreographed well and give an adrenaline rush for fans. Kalai Kingson is to be credited for making these sequences that are not just flawlessly executed, but also shockingly graphic, which adds a shocking dimension in the movie.
Although he is given a limited screens, Kabir Duhan Singh has an impressive impression, particularly when he is in a fight scene with Mukundan. The supporting cast contributes in a positive way to this film.
Negative Points: Weak Story & Excessive Violence
While it is successful in the action scene, Marco struggles with its narrative. The plot is easy to follow and does not have the depth needed to give it a unique feel. The emotional impact of the plot’s vengeance-seeking Marco isn’t fully developed, leaving very little for the viewer to relate emotionally.
The main character’s motivation is a bit simplistic that limits emotional engagement and reducing the importance of his cause. Furthermore the film’s graphic violence and violent sequences could be overwhelming to viewers of all ages and those who are who are sensitive to graphic images.
While the extreme violence is essential to the story however, it could be a bit off-putting to those who aren’t used to the ferocity. Furthermore, while the story introduces many individuals, only a handful are given enough time to develop while the others feel inadequately utilized.
Technical Point: Visually Strong, Emotionally Weak
From a technical point of view The director’s goal to make a brutal and action-packed film is evident. However, the absence of a compelling story weakens an emotional connection. A stronger emotional foundation could have tempered the action and created a more compelling film.
The music written by Ravi Basrur, serves its purpose, but doesn’t greatly increase the intensity of the film. Certain tracks are reminiscent of previous works by the composer, which reduces their impact.
The impressive cinematography and production quality make it visually appealing. However the editing, particularly in the first half would have to be more precise.
